A heavy silver sandwich box with a satin gilt interior and a suspension loop to the hinge edge. Nicely marked to all components J. D. & S with the year mark for 1910 and in excellent condition.
The business of James dixon was established in Sheffield in 1806 and became James Dixon & Sons in around 1835 opening showrooms in London in 1873.
