The Jessant-de-Lis is defined in heraldry as a leopard's head amid a fleur-de-lis, the upper points arising from the top of the leopard's head whilst the lower points emit from the mouth. This 17th century wrought iron lunette grille is made up of trailing leaves and flowers (all petals now rusted away) centred by a Jessant-de-Lis. The leopard's head is the heraldic device of families Ady, Adry, Austie, Cantelow, Cooley, Dawbeney, Leversedge, Prestwick, Tension and Watkins, and as such may be from the family house of any one.

Perhaps English circa 1700.
