A Fine Georgian Pepper Caster

The production of nearly all domestic brassware is attributed to the workshops of Birmingham, on account of extant trade catalogues advertising the wares of these Birmingham companies.

If ever there was a pepper pot made well enough to come from London it would be this.

Large and substantial, the single piece casting is lathe turned out, within and beneath the foot, embellished at the shoulder, top of the body and immediately beneath the pierced holes with a decorative knurling of chevrons.

English circa 1760.

5 3/4 inches high.
