A splendid mid 20th century still life by Leo Klin, showing the influence of the great Dutch masters of the 17th century.Painted in oil on canvas board and within a fine gilded oak frame of circa 1900. It should be noted that this example of Klin's work has been reduced, the signature cut and pasted to the work lower left.

Leo Klin 1887-1967 was a painter originally from Russia. Born in Grodno where he studied at the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg. Once in England he lived in London and exhibited extensively, including the Royal Academy, The Royal Society of Portrait Painters, United Society of Artists and The New English Art Club. His work is held at Sunderland Museum and Art Gallery and The Russell-Cotes Art Gallery in Bournemouth.
