A sharpening steel of several lives.

The 19th century steel stamped ‘Markham. Warranted’; the 17th/18th century burnt-butter-coloured ivory handle much worn but still retaining most of the brass pinned pique work typical of the Huguenot work often found on walking canes of the same period. The steel and turned handle united by an embossed brass collar and finished with a turned brass pommel and steel hanger.

Overall length 19.5 inches

The ivory registered with DEFRA.
